The streets are crowded with hot, smelly people wearing mouse ears and belly bags – your feet hurt from standing in long lines all day from likely the same rides you have been going on since you were a wee child – it’s now time for an Adult Disneyland and really make this the happiest place on earth.
Today’s Disney experience is light years away from when we were children. The new 2.0 Disney experience has cocktails, leather seats and umbrellas in your liquid escape away from the endless long lines, the mass tourists that line Main Street U.S.A., the noise and the crush that is a typical day in the house that the mouse built.
Put down that corn dog, get out of the 55 minute wait at the Indiana Jones ride and get lost in the Adult Disneyland of hand crafted cocktails, fine wine and micro beer – actually go and relax!
Carthay Circle Lounge- Spending a full day at the resort can be draining and you need a place to recharge and sip a little mixology. The Carthay Circle Lounge is located inside the Carthay Circle Restaurant at California Adventure and is one of the best places to escape, relax and the well-trained mixologist can make anything on or off the menu. The lounge prides itself on their unique and organic ingredients like BBQ, angostura, orange, grapefruit, cherry & peychaud’s. Sip well in a joint that harkens back to great cocktail lounges of the golden age of Hollywood glamour era.
ESPN Zone Dream Seat- The ESPN Zone located in Downtown Disney is already one of the coolest places to catch an array of sports all converging in a beer and wings central location. I mean come on, they have TV’s in the urinals! However, the granddaddy of all seats in the house has to be the Dream Seats recliners in the Screening Room dining area. You will want this coveted seat in your own house, as you kick back for an hour or so to rest your aching feet that trekked all over Tom Sawyer’s Island.
Hearthstone Lounge– Get lost on the serene surroundings of this cozy lounge in the heart of the grandest hotel in all of the resort – Disney’s Grand Californian hotel and spa. On a chilly day, nurse a warm cocktail by the fire, or on a hot day cool down with a frosty beverage, either served from the very detailed and friendly bar staff. You still are in Disney of course! Go very decadent and dive into their signature Godiva martini’s – you’ll need the sugar rush later when you attack Space Mountain.
Mendocino Terrace – Amusement park rides and fine wine do not go together like Danny and Sandy from Grease, however this great location is the perfect spot in California Adventure above the parade route where you can taste some great wine from California and around the world. Try your own luck or ask one of their wine experts which flight of wines you should order before taking flight at Soaring Over California.
Catal Uva Bar– By far the most posh bar in Downtown Disney, the Uva Bar is a perfect way to get out of the parks for a while and yet still do some really great people watching. Throw back a couple of cold craft beers on a warm summer’s eve, as you prepare to brave the crowds back in the park at Disney’s best stage show – Fantasmic!
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar – Are you on a ride or is this just one of the coolest bars in all of anywhere? Combine Disney’s magic of their Imagineers décor and the tropical cocktail menu and you will be transported to a mini-vacay at the foot of the Disneyland Hotel. This tiki-infused bar is one spectacular way to catch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom with one of their show stopping drinks that actually light on fire – the famous Uh-Oa is one serious cocktail and you know you need one right now…ok, maybe now.
